Manchester United stars Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes have both been punished with three-match bans for their dismissals in Amsterdam in August. Both were shown the red cards directly, for violent conduct and serious foul play in the 3-1 win over Porto, during the a friendly tournament.

DaimlerChrysler, the world's fifth largest carmaker, is close to acquiring the remaining 60 percent it does not own in Formula One team McLaren.
Team boss Ron Dennis and Saudi investor Mansour Ojjeh each own 30 percent of the McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 Team.
Daimler acquired a 40 percent stake in 1999 for an estimated $400 million.
