Formula 1 - Turkish GP Istanbul Brazilian Felipe Massa produced a perfect drive to claim the first Formula 1 win of his career in the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park. World champion Fernando Alonso managed to stay in front of his permanent opponent Michael Schumacher and grasped the 2nd place of the podium, while the german finished 3rd. They were followed, in this order, by Jenson Button, Pedro de la Rosa, Giancarlo Fisichella, Ralf Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. Thus, Alonso is still the leader of the championship, with just 12 points in front of Michael Schumacher.

Cycling - Vuelta a Espana Today the Tour of Spain has started and we have surprises even from the start. Italian champion Paolo Bettini took a surprise victory in the opening road stage of the Vuelta in Córdoba as Norway's Thor Hushovd claimed the leader's gold jersey.The Quickstep rider produced a sensational late burst as he sneaked through a narrow gap to steal the win ahead of Hushovd and Italian Luca Paolini.
