Polo - European Championship The Romanian Polo team has beaten Italy 10-9 in a dramatical match at the European competition, held in Belgrade. Therefor the Romanians have qualified in the semi-finals, proving that they are among the best 6 european polo teams. This result has brought qualified them directly for the ECH 2008 in Spain. The match was breathtaking, with the Romanians coming back to score after a 9-6 lead for the Italians. They managed to score their winning goal with just 20 seconds before the end of the match. The Romanians will ba facing the host team Serbia, today at 19:45 (local hour = Greenwich +2h).

Cycling - Vuelta Spanish Euskaltel rider Samuel Sanchez squeezed out of a small group of favourites after the final climb in Cuenca to win the 13th stage of the Vuelta a Espana. Alejandro Valverde increased his overall lead by finishing third. Sprinter's leader Thor Hushovd took second-place in front of Valverde, but the podium finish gave the Spaniard valuable bonus seconds to hold on to the gold jersey.

Formula 1 - Transfer Flavio Briatore drops the bomb: Ferrari have signed Raikkonen! Formula 1 champions Renault would have signed Kimi Raikkonen for next season had he not been committed already to Ferrari, team boss Flavio Briatore said today.
